All our instructors are passionate about the power of this yoga. We are committed to creating a safe and fun environment for you to grow physically and emotionally through your yoga practice.
We are here to help, so please feel free to approach us with questions and concerns.
Carol’s attention to detail and form provides an atmosphere where you are challenged in her class, yet motivated to achieve more than you thought possible. It is her goal to create a space for you to find your own inner strength while you experience the benefits of overall health from this amazing practice. She truly believes if you can do Bikram Yoga, you can do anything!
Erin’s passion and commitment to this yoga will be apparent the moment you enter her class. Erin truly believes in the relationship between effort and outcome. She feels that in order to reach your full potential, you must be willing to step out of your comfort zone. As a teacher, Erin witnessed the power that Bikram Yoga has to improve lives. She saw sick people become healthy, angry people become kind, depressed people become hopeful, and injured people become pain free.
Charles began practicing yoga in 2000 practicing power yoga (at a local gym) and various other styles (at Moksha Yoga in Chicago) before finding Bikram yoga in 2009. He was working hard to get back into shape after hitting a maximum weight of 240 pounds and began practicing to train for a 2 day 200 mile bicycle ride for charity.
LEAD DESK STAFF
Kara began her Bikram Yoga practice when the studio first opened in 2003. She is a huge advocate for animals that are in need of rescue, and regularly fosters dogs that need a forever home. Don’t be surprised if you see some of her fur babies at the front desk from time-to-time!
Becca has been a dancer, a mover, a shaker pretty much her whole life. She majored in Fine Arts at the University of Arizona in Tucson (dance was part of her major!) which led her to her very first yoga class. That class was a Bikram Yoga class. She fell in love with the practice pretty much immediately due to the amazing energy and clarity she left the studio with after each session.
HOT HIIT INSTRUCTOR
In 2002, Becky moved back to St. Louis with her husband Matt, a New Englander. Both experienced marathoners, Matt was the one who began taking occasional hot yoga classes and suggested Becky give it a try. Somewhat willingly, she looked at yoga as a way to start fresh after having her third daughter, so she rolled her eyes and gave it a shot. Bam. Hooked.
Caroline took her first class at Pure Hot Yoga St. Louis during winter break of her senior year at Mizzou in 2014. She fell in love with the practice and its calming effects. As a life long worrier, she was relieved to find something that challenged her physically and quieted her mind at the same time. She started working at front desk and was thrilled when she got the opportunity to become an instructor
When Catherine took her first few Bikram Yoga classes in 2005, she had been a smoker on and off for many years. On June 19, 2006 Catherine quit smoking for good and attributes her success to returning to - and committing to - a regular Bikram Yoga practice at Carol and Erin's studio.
Courtney began her Bikram yoga practice in 2011 at a studio in her hometown in the San Francisco Bay Area. When she relocated to St. Louis, she deepened her practice at Pure Hot Yoga. She loves that this style of yoga is a challenging physical practice that also calms your mind.
When JJ came to this yoga, she was completely amazed at it's power and ability to transform lives. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Today she is still awed by it's power and it's simplicity. The combination of heat, sweat and breath along with each posture in the series, is a complete make over for the mind and body. Each day all you have to do is show up!
Julia started her yoga practice at Pure Hot Yoga in the summer of 2018. Through her practice Julia finds peace, as well as a refreshed energy allowing her to stretch her horizons, and embark on new adventures.
Julie had practiced various styles of yoga before she discovered the Bikram method here in 2005. It was anything but love at first sweat, but the more she came the more she saw her ailments fall away. Since beginning her practice she has healed her plantar fasciitis, improved her vision, and even grown one half of an inch!
During a trip to St. Louis on Mother’s Day in 2008, Liz took her first Bikram yoga class on a whim with her mom and cousin who was 39 weeks pregnant at the time. She wore an over-sized t-shirt and baggy sweatpants to that first class and in the ten years since then, she has continued to learn something from every class, the least of which being proper attire.
Mary began practicing Bikram Yoga at the suggestion of a friend. She had been looking to try a yoga class and the hot room intrigued her. She loved that you could practice as a beginner in the same class with veteran students. The practice helped her run more that 15 half marathons and complete a mini triathlon which was on her bucket list.
Marilyn was introduced to Bikram Yoga by a friend/co-worker in Salt Lake City, UT while on active duty for the US Army Reserves in 2010. She found her way back to a regular practice at Pure Hot Yoga St. Louis in September 2017. After months of practicing regularly, Marilyn began working at the front desk. She feels at home while working or practicing at the studio. The clients and staff are great at Pure Hot Yoga St. Louis!
